The Story
I wish I had told you is the powerful story between Amanda and Brandon, a brother and a sister who during a night of reunion face the untold reasons behind the loss of a strong connection they once had.
As a new job opportunity presents itself to Brandon, Amanda uses it to get her brother back. However things don't go according to plans. As Amanda tries to emotionally connect with her brother and understand the motivations behind his rejections, he shuts down. The siblings soon get into painful arguments. While Brandon accuses Amanda of her demeaning pushy, knows it all behavior, she accuses him of his bad choices and lack of accountability.
The story takes us through Amanda and Brandon's past via meaningful flashbacks and the major struggles they faced in their personal lives.
As they both gate-keep their true feeling, some rounds of push and pull lead to heated conflicts and hurtful irreversible words are thrown. As much as it is easier for them to blame one another, they deep down know, the only way to heal is to open hearts, acknowledge their mistakes and forgive each other. But most importantly, they must learn to forgive themselves.
The story moves between moments of joy and sadness, creating an emotional balance. The happy scenes bring warmth and hope, while the sad moments add depth, realism and truth to the story making the overall message more powerful.
Why this story matters
In this story, we touch important topics such as isolation, addiction, racism and domestic violence, and how they can deeply impact people’s lives, causing pain, fear, and emotional trauma. Most of the problems between the characters arise from these issue and this project aims to inspire compassion, and encourage open communication.
In today's modern life, people are increasingly disconnected. I wish I had told you is a story that burns dow the excess to focus on what's fundamental: two people, a relationship and a fragile hope that what was broken can be repaired.
The story explores how time, pride, guilt and pain can corrode even the deepest bonds and how confronting that truth requires a rare kind of courage.
The film leans into tension were the intangibility of the emotional battle ground allows every single moments from small glances to unfinished sentences to shine through the weight they carry. The story of Amanda and Brandon is about the fragile nature of love, platonic or not and the idea of a chance as small as it is, for two people to find their way back to each other after years of distance and resentment.
This story resonates because of it's universality. We all carry relationships that were dismantled, words we wish we had or had not said. The film stands as a mirror to our experiences, compelling audiences to not just watch but feel and reflect, sometimes, before it's too late.

Our team
Francesca Brice-Martin is a Los Angeles based film Director and Producer originally from Burkina Faso. She started her journey in television as a kid actress and transitioned behind the scenes over time. Francesca spent the last decade working in and out of the entertainment industry, yet fully embraced filmmaking as a career only a few years back when she moved in Los Angeles to complete her MFA in Film & Video Production at the New York Film Academy. She directed and produced multiple award-winning short films. Francesca made her first short film "La Rupture" in 2015 and is best known for The Perfect Size and Rats in the House. She has dabbled in diverse genres, from deep drama to light comedy, and creates films that move lives, stimulate deep emotions, and spread positivity. Her work covers themes like love, hope, despair, misery, struggle, & redemption and shares important, untold stories with the world.
Mingzhu Ye (Rachel Ye) is a Los Angeles–based producer working across film, television, music videos, and branded content. Her work includes feature films, short films, and commercial projects for brands including Adidas.
Projects she has produced have screened at major international festivals, including Academy Award–qualifying festivals such as LA Shorts International Film Festival, Palm Springs International ShortFest, Rhode Island International Film Festival, Cinequest, and Tasveer Film Festival, and have been distributed on platforms including Apple TV+, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and The CW.
Passionate about bringing ambitious stories to life, Rachel is known for her collaborative, hands-on approach and her ability to guide productions of all sizes from development through completion.
Maliya Ojo lives in Los Angeles, CA. She grew up in Maryland, where she discovered her talent for acting. Ever since she was young, she auditioned for commercials and TV shows as well as school plays and films. She moved to LA at the ripe age of 15 to pursue her dreams and never looked back. She took a break to go to college, where she majored in Film Production. She wasn't sure what she wanted to do with her life, but after getting back into acting in 2019 she remembered how much she loved it and she has been going hard for it ever since.
Edgar B. Nunley is a Los Angeles–based cinematographer with over a decade of experience photographing community life, culture, and independent creative projects throughout Southern California. His work spans documentary, branded content, and independent narrative film, with a focus on capturing authentic human stories through visually grounded cinematography. Having lived and worked in Los Angeles for more than ten years, Edgar brings deep familiarity with the city’s neighborhoods, cultural landscapes, and evolving visual identity. His cinematography emphasizes natural light, environmental context, and emotional realism, allowing subjects and locations to speak for themselves.
Edgar has collaborated with independent storytellers, artists, and community organizations to tell stories rooted in place and lived experience. His work reflects a commitment to preserving community narratives and contributing to visual archives that honor local history and identity.
